when glumac came to me and asked for a direct mail
piece that would be memorable, yet get their message
across, a light bulb immediately went off in my head
(pun intended!). the company was trying to attract new
clients to hire their to firm update buildings (mainly
on college campuses) with new, energy effecient upgrades.
the concept of a ‘bright idea’ was effective both because
of the simple image of a compact floursecent lightbulb refl-
ecting energy savings, and the relation to the image of a
person who has a good idea being represented as a light bulb
above their head.
the challenge was to make the packaging look as authentic as
possible while still getting the information glumac needed
integrated into the packaging.
